We have a new friend in the house.
A teeny, tiny field mouse.
Fearless and footloose, our little friend,
walks about our house.
Oh with a great start, he/she jump started my heart.
You see the other night, from the corner of my eye...
I saw a small tiny shadow run by.
Fear being what it is. I thought "Oh my what a BIG NASTY SPIDER that is!"
I turned on the lights... only to see a small shadow run by.
Still unsure of what 'IT' was... I decided to just wait and see.
The very next day, I saw it. A teeny, tiny field mouse. In our house.
Well to our surprise, s/he joined us for dinner. A little crumb of chocolate hazelnut spread, fell onto the floor. It took only a few seconds, and there s/he was. Licking and chewing right at our feet, under the table.
Oh could we be so fearless, and footloose as this tiny one is. As cute as can be, we tried to set this one free. By the front door, I shooed her out the door. But just a while later there he was again. Running footloose and fancy free, right across our living room floor.
I took it as a sign that no matter what fear tells us it is. We should always wait and see...
For it just might be...
a teeny tiny mouse, visiting our house.
All footloose and fancy free and fearless as can be.
ps-I'll try and get a picture, maybe a pose? From our tiny little friend no longer than an inch, what do you suppose this fearless little wonder, even ran across my toes. HiHiHi... that tickles...
